Travis Roy Foundation
The quick pitch
How can we reimagine a WIFFLE® Ball Tournament that lived on the baseball field for 18 years?
The Travis Roy Foundation hosts an annual WIFFLE® Ball Tournament to raise money and awareness for spinal cord injury survivors. In 2020, we helped them bring it to the social media playing field.

Why you should care?
We got to bring the vision of the Founder, Travis Roy, to life for his last WIFFLE® Ball Tournament.
The campaign helped the WIFFLE® Ball Tournament break beyond the boundaries of the physical realm to live online forever.
Background:
The Travis Roy Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to helping spinal cord injury survivors live more independent and hopeful lives through adaptive equipment grants and funding scientific research focused on solving paralysis-related challenges.
For 18 years, the Travis Roy Foundation hosted a WIFFLE® Ball Challenge Tournament that raised more than $100,000 taking place in Little Fenway, Little Wrigley, and Little Field of Dreams in Essex, Vermont.
Challenge:
The 2020 tournament had to be canceled due to COVID-19. TRF needed to find a way to host a virtual fundraiser that would be as exciting as participating in the WIFFLE® Ball Challenge Tournament in person.
How did it come to life?
Target Audiences:
Donors
Challengers
Insight:
COVID-19 challenged people to find new ways to continue traditions. People weren't afraid to be creative, as long as they could continue to participate in the things that mean the world to them.

Big Idea: #BatterUpTRF
Just like the playing field, we challenged the social media users to get creative with their home runs.
“What can you hit a WIFFLE® Ball over?”. A simple question answered in three easy steps - swing, post, tag.
Strategy & Communication Plan
What does it mean to be a hero? Heroes stand against injustice to save the most vulnerable members of society: children. Predators lie in wait for an opportunity to exploit and endanger these children. Whenever a child is endangered, there are people fighting behind-the-scenes to save them. Everyone who plays a part in a child’s rescue becomes a hero—providing energy, tools, and expertise to fight against exploitation.
Together, they're CAPE: Children's Advocates Protecting the Exploited.
Social Media Content Buckets:
